This abandoned funeral home dates back to 1970 when it first opened its doors as a small family owned and operated mortuary. The funeral homes owner had a stellar and creditable reputation in the local area, which certainly helped the business to grow into one of the most premier funeral homes located throughout the entire state.
Unfortunately the funeral home permanently closed in 2006 just prior to the beloved owner passing away. Exploring this abandoned funeral home was way more of a challenge than i had expected. It was located in a rough, wild, and dangerous neighborhood with people everywhere so getting into the funeral home took over an hour as i was approached several different times by nosey neighbors curious to what it was that I was doing.
It basically came down to the option of either taking the risk and go explore it or miss out on the opportunity. And i obviously made the right choice as the funeral home turned out to be amazing. There were lots of stuff left behind, most notably the caskets, the gurneys, the embalming tools, the obituaries, and even the old school baby blue Cadillac hearse. With it also being pretty rare to find all of that left behind, thankfully it all worked out in the end and i accomplished the mission of exploring this incredible abandoned funeral home.
We hope that everyone enjoyed this abandoned funeral home video. It was definitely an anxiety ridden experience but also a helluva location to explore.
